Provincial governments or the federal government, usually through hospitals or cancer clinics, generally cover the cost of chemotherapy medications.

You probably won’t have to worry about the cost of chemotherapy.

However, some kinds of medication, called “supportive care medication,” aren’t always covered under provincial plans. You may wish to check on all your insurance possibilities in case you require supportive care medications during your chemotherapy.
